How to Play
- Pick a game type. Mixed draws from every subject, or choose one topic: India, Science, World & Geography, History, Animals & Nature, Sports & Games, Food & Culture, or Space & Tech.
- Choose a difficulty. Easy sticks to questions most school students know, Medium mixes easy and tricky ones, and Hard brings out the toughest questions.
- Read the question and tap one of the four answers before the 20-second timer runs out.
- The right answer lights up straight away, along with a one-line fact that explains it.
- After ten questions you see your total points. Try again to beat your best score.
Rules
A correct answer earns 100 points plus a speed bonus of up to 50 points. The quicker you tap, the bigger the bonus, so a lightning-fast correct answer is worth nearly 150. A wrong answer, or letting the timer run out, scores nothing, but you never lose points you already have.
You can only choose once per question, so think before you tap. A streak counter shows how many answers in a row you have got right. Your best score is saved on your device, so you can keep chasing your own record.
There is no typing anywhere in the game. Every question has four choices, and only one of them is correct.
Tips & Strategy
- Read every option before tapping. Wrong answers are chosen to look believable, such as four real cities or four close numbers, so the first familiar name is not always right.
- Balance speed and accuracy. The speed bonus tops out at 50, while a correct answer is worth 100. A careful answer at ten seconds beats a rushed wrong one every time.
- Rule out the odd ones. If you are unsure, cross off choices you know are wrong in your head. Picking between two is far better odds than guessing among four.
- Read the fact after each question. The facts are short, and the same topics come round again, so today's surprise can be tomorrow's easy point.
- Practise one topic at a time. If History keeps catching you out, play a few rounds of that topic alone. It is a handy way to revise GK for school quizzes.
Game Modes
Solo gives you ten questions to answer at your own pace within the timer. Add one to three computer players if you want a race, and watch their scores climb beside yours.
Daily quiz serves the same ten mixed questions to every player each day, with a fresh set at midnight India time. When you finish, share an emoji grid of green and red squares that shows how you did without giving away any answers. Play every day to build a daily streak.
Same device suits two to eight players sharing one phone. Players take turns, and each gets their own questions: five each for two to four players, or three each for five to eight. Pass the phone along when your turn ends. Scoring works exactly as in solo, and the highest total wins. It makes a fun general knowledge quiz for kids at a family gathering.
Play with Friends Online
Choose Play Online, create a room and share the link with up to seven friends. Everyone answers the same question at the same moment on their own phone. Nobody can see what the others picked until everyone has answered or the time runs out. Then the reveal shows the correct answer and who got it right. Faster correct answers earn more points, so the race is on from the very first second. After a few seconds the next question appears on its own, and the player with the most points at the end wins. It is the easiest way to play a quiz with friends online, whether they live next door or in another city.
Trivia Quiz FAQ
Is Trivia Quiz free to play?
Yes. It runs in your browser on phones, tablets and computers, with no sign-up and no download.
Who can play the GK quiz?
Anyone who enjoys general knowledge. Easy mode suits younger children, while Hard mode will test teenagers and adults. All questions are family-friendly.
How does the daily quiz work?
Everyone in India gets the same ten mixed questions each day. The set changes at midnight India time, and your shared result shows only coloured squares, never the answers.
Do the questions repeat?
The bank holds hundreds of questions across eight topics, so you will keep meeting new ones as you play.
Why did I get zero points even though I answered?
Either the answer was wrong or the timer had already run out. Only a correct answer within twenty seconds scores points.
